COMMENTS & OBSERVATIONS
Following on from our last successful outing we decided to take the chance to jump in for a shore dive before the winds picked up. Unfortunately it was too choppy at Horseshoe Bay to photograph small critters in such shallow water so we opted to try out Grays Bay which is more protected. Visibility was not great and it took a little while to find the narrow reef that runs out towards the headland. Although the corals were looking very healthy and the substrate looked promising it took over an hour to find our first sea slug, a tiny Bulbaeolidia alba, crawling across the silty substrate. As we neared the shore on our return we found the second species of the day, and ended up finding 3 of them basically back at the start point of the dive. Although it was not the most productive dive, it was still nice and we have not recorded either of these species at this site before.
