COMMENTS & OBSERVATIONS

We went out over the Caloundra Bar in Rebel II, there being very little breaking water and headed up to Currimundi Reef at a good pace. Terry placed the anchor right at the foot of the ledge at Nudi 2 and we worked one way along the ledge on the first dive and the other on the second. No unusual species to report, however quite a number of very juvenile Bornella anguilla were sighted and Hypselodoris bullockii always makes for a handsome portrait. A small Phyllodesmium magnum was found nibbling on a large Sarcophyton soft coral. The two commonest presentations of Chromodoris elisabethina were also sighted in close proximity to each other – the one with a single black continuous mid-dorsal stripe and the other with many additional smaller black dashes either side. The ventral aspect of Phyllidia elegans was photographed showing the characteristic longitudinal black line on the foot sole.
