COMMENTS & OBSERVATIONS
A middle of the day shore dive in excellent conditions meant that I was greeted with a crowded beach and carpark and had to gear up on the grass rather than a usual table. Although still unable to dive, Julie came for a snorkel and to act as surface watch – her help in lugging my gear back up the beach was invaluable!
The low critter count is an indication of how much her keen eyesight contributes to our usual species counts. I am sure that there were many other species to be found but they were not visible to my ageing eyesight. The Niparaya sp. 8 was a pleasing find as we had not seen it in the Whitsundays previously; it is always good to add to the list of new species for here.
Taxonomic data:
No nudibranchs were sighted. A single species of Aglajidae, a cephalspidean (headshield slugs) was recorded
