Euselenops luniceps

Author: (Cuvier, 1817)

Order: Pleurobranchoidea  Family: Pleurobranchaeidae

Maximum Size: 70 mm

Sightings: Sunshine Coast

Moles et al, 2023 revealed through molecular sequencing that Euselenops belongs to the Pleurobranchaeidae family.

External features to note are the widely spaced rhinophores, the oral veil fused to the anterior of the mantle and the foot being much larger than the mantle. This species however does not have a wrinkled mantle surface.
