Verconia sp. 06 Undescribed
The specimen of Verconia sp. 06 sighted on the Sunshine Coast only has one rhinophore. It would appear that this abnormality is of a developmental nature rather than as a result of predator attack.
This species is listed in NSSI, 2018 as Verconia sp. 05 (p. 176) and is described therein as follows: “Yellow with white reticulations; gill and rhinophores red. Similar to Noumea [sic] verconiforma but is unclear whether the yellow mantle represents variation or is a characteristic of a distinct species.”
