Previously known on this site as Tenellia puellula. Change effected 11/05/2025.

This is the Tenellia sp. 26 of NSSI, 2018. It has been communicated to me that, althoughTenellia puellula is a very similar species from Sagami Bay, Japan, it presents with scattered white pigment on the head rather than the distinct white patch of this species and the temperate habitat of Sagami Bay should also be taken into consideration.
